After you complete and submit the form, you’ll be asked what mode of payment you want to use for the appointment. Depending on the payment options offered by your cannabis doctor, you can select one that best suits your convenience. Usually, medical marijuana clinics accept cash, credit cards and debit cards; only few accept checks. Still, it’s advisable to call in at the clinic before your visit to confirm.
If you’ve chosen a private consultation, you’re unlikely to encounter any other patients in the waiting room. Shortly after completing the paperwork and making the payment, you’ll be guided to the doctor’s room.
Inside the room, the doctor will review your pre-screening form and medical records to determine whether you qualify for a medical marijuana treatment. They may perform some additional tests for their assurance. In addition, you’ll be asked about your symptoms and how long you’ve been suffering from the medical condition. The doctor is also likely to ask you about what other treatment options you’ve so far sought to treat the ailment.
After reviewing everything, the doctor will then decide whether to recommend medical marijuana or not.
If your doctor does recommend the treatment, they’ll guide you further about the risks and benefits involved in using cannabis. They’ll also advise you about the precautions to take. After everything is discussed, they’ll issue a recommendation.
You’ll use this recommendation to apply for a medical marijuana card which will give you access to local dispensaries.
