IndicaMD Helps You Get Medical Marijuana Certificates in Minneapolis

Known for its revitalizing parks and stunning open spaces, Plymouth is a visual treat for locals. Whether you recently moved to the aesthetically pleasing city or have been a resident for a few years now, we’re sure you can’t envision living anywhere else!

If you use medical marijuana for pain relief, anxiety, PTSD, Alzheimer’s, or a similar condition, we can help you acquire certification without burdening you with extensive paperwork and unnecessary visits.

At IndicaMD, we specialize in helping patients consult the leading physicians in Plymouth and gain access to medical marijuana certification.

How Should I Get Started?

Once you have the help you need, you can easily breeze through the medical marijuana registration process and acquire certification.

Official certification allows you to shop for medical cannabis at local dispensaries. You can choose to purchase THC and CBD oils, cannabis tinctures, pills/capsules, vaporizer cartridges, CBD gummies, or topical CBD creams, among many other products.

The best part is that the process is quick and straightforward.

Before you proceed with the registration, confirm that you have one of the following qualifying conditions for possessing medical marijuana certification:

  • Cancer associated with severe pain, chronic pain, extreme vomiting, cachexia, nausea, or severe wasting
  • Tourette syndrome
  • Autism, if the DSM-V criteria for autism are met
  • Glaucoma
  • Intractable pain
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • PTSD
  • Terminal illness if the patient has a life expectancy of less than one year and the illness results in severe and chronic pain, nausea or severe vomiting, or cachexia or severe wasting
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Seizures
  • Extreme and frequent muscle spasms
  • ALS
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Sickle cell disease

If you suffer from one of the aforementioned conditions, you can easily register for certification.

At IndicaMD, we make the process easy by allowing patients to register online using their email and password. You’ll be required to fill out a brief health questionnaire that helps us understand your condition and provides basic information.

Shortly afterward, you’ll receive a doctor’s evaluation. Patients can comfortably video chat with our licensed physicians from the comfort of their homes. Our HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform ensures complete privacy and security so you can proceed with the process without feeling hesitant.

If you’d like to receive more information regarding our real-time video call process, we’ll be happy to help.

Once you’ve received approval from our medical marijuana physician, you’ll get an email with your medical marijuana recommendation letter. This is vital information that is required by the Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC). Our physician will sign, emboss, and deliver the recommendation letter. We’ll submit it to the OMC so you can receive a link for registration and follow the procedure to get approved.

Please take note that we offer a telehealth solution for all our existing Minnesota cannabis patients if they want to apply for recertification. You can conduct a video chat with our experienced physician to renew your Medical Marijuana Card and affirm that you have a qualifying condition for the Minnesota Cannabis Program.

However, our online service is not for first-time patients. If you are a new patient and want to join the Minnesota Cannabis Program, please make an in-person visit to a physician’s office to get evaluated for the cannabis certification.

On May 30, Gov. Tim Walz signed the bill that legalizes adult-use cannabis in Minnesota (for more details, visit the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management). The legislation includes good news for Minnesota Medical Cannabis Program patients:
  • Effective July 1, 2023, the annual enrollment fee will be eliminated.
  • Effective Aug. 1, 2023, a patient’s initial certification visit with a health care practitioner can be conducted via telemedicine.
  • Effective March 1, 2025, patients will be required to get recertified for their qualifying medical condition every three years, instead of every year.
  • Effective March 1, 2025, the age for registered caregivers to purchase cannabis flower will be 18, rather than 21.

While the tax on adult-use cannabis product sales will be 10% (in addition to state and local sales taxes), medical cannabis products will continue to be tax-free.

The Medical Cannabis Program will establish an alternative certification procedure for veterans who receive care from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to confirm that the veteran has been diagnosed with a qualifying medical condition. The new application procedure will be effective Jan. 1, 2024. We will share more about this procedure at a later date.
